It’s not all good news for Trump. Republicans have suffered a major blow in a key race that has finally been called, days after polls closed. Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States.
Mr Trump needed 270 electoral college votes to win and is now projected to have at least 301 after he took Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Nevada. He is also likely win Arizona in a clean sweep of all seven swing states, which would deliver him a crushing electoral college victory of 312 to 226 for Kamala Harris.
Republicans have won back the Senate and are likely to retain control of the House. Mr. Trump is also projected to win the national popular vote, the first time for a Republican since 2004.
